Your personal background.
I am a retired UK political scientist living in Wales for whom computing is a hobby, having started dabbling with computers in 1964 on an IBM 1620 with 40k and paper tape input. I am still amazed by the power available on my desktop (4GB AMD64 X4) in comparison to that first machine. I first learned to program in Fortran II but as most of my work is text manipulation I now mostly use Bash shell script and Pascal.

Your opinions about Chess960@Home
Since studying elementary game theory, I have always been interested in the idea of chess as a strictly determined game and in the possibility of computing all the strategies, hence my interest in this project.
