I guess I know the answer to this, but I'll ask it anyway.
Is there any way of getting chess960 to observe the Boinc Manager preferences?
I have configured Boinc Manager such that Boinc projects only use three out of the 4 CPUs. Chess960 does not observe this, and when its work units are running all four processors are used, and my machine runs hotter than I would like.
When I am changing cpu use in the preferences from 100% to 75% there are only 3 active chess WUs instead of four.
I also do not recognize my machine running hot, chess does't use the cpu as effective as for example primegrid would do. Chess just causes these awful freezes of the complete machine, and sometimes these WUs that stand still for hours and keep the machine from crunching, but both of these faults should not heat up the machine but cool it down instead.
Oh and I forgot: I did not do anything to achieve that the machine keeps to the cpu-75%-use. If you really set the BM to 75% and it does't obey I would rather suspect a not up to date Boinc.
