We have currently problems with the engine's output after changing the duration of workunits. It needs more time to find the reason. Thanks for your patience.

The project will have a (60-90 minutes) shutdown now for database maintenance. It starts now (8 pm German Time).

The deadline for a single workunit has been changed to more than a day. We hope to increase the percentage of succesful workunits and to satisfy users needs.

We added a new feature to our website. 'Live games' shows now a collection of six current games in real time. Don't expect too much action the deadline for a single half move is 12 hours.

The first 194 matches (25809 half moves) has been finished and are now available in the database.

From 15th to 20th of August 2006 will take place the 6th Chess Classic Mainz. Peter Svidler vs. Levon Aronian will play for the title of the World Champion in Chess960 during this biggest Chess960 event this year. In addition the 2nd World Championships in Chess960 for computer engines will take place with 21 programs. The Chess960 engine we use (Glaurung) is one of the Top 5 candidates to win this event. Chess960@home has now 1000 users with credit.
In only a little more than one month the number of users increases from 130 to 1000 users. Many Thanks to all users !

The project Chess960athome will have a shutdown for maintanance on July 11th, 2006 at 4.30 pm UTC.
The outage is planned for a duration of 2 hours.

We are currently testing the first version of our own application with some work.

Today we've finished our update of the website code to the latest version.
From now Account Management Systems (AMS) should be supported. Please report promlems in
Q and A.

Chess960athome is up again. But unfortunately we lost some tables during this procedure.
All threads and postings in forums and the user profiles are affected.

Chess960athome is down for database maintenance now.
It will take 1 to 2 hours.

April 19th, 2006
Now we are able to run some tests with WUs for i686 Linux platforms.
Therefor we are using the application of
QMC.

April 7th, 2006
In the next few weeks we perform some tests to get experience in creating work units with different parameters, process automatisation, credit handling and XML statistics.
We use the application of PrimeGrid because our application isn't ready yet. Thanks to Rytis, the developer of PrimeGrid project.
In parallel we work on our own Chess960 application.

The pre registered users have successfully moved to our database.

The website for the Alpha phase of Chess960@home is now online. Some remaining bugs may be left and be posted in the message board.
Actual Process: Development of a test application to make sure the infrastructure is correct and moving the pre-registered users into our database.
